It was with a sense of shared loss that I learnt of the death of Nelson Mandela.

He was a figure for peace, understanding and tolerance in a world beset with animosity. His tireless fight for justice and freedom means that he leaves a legacy of the South Africa we see today.

His inspiration is key to those of us who strive for a new world humanitarian order. Humankind will never forget him and his values.

My wife and I send our deepest condolences to his family and the people of South Africa.
